It is always nice to hear of a British company doing well so I was delighted to read on the Motorcycle News website of a British company hitting record sales figures.

CCM Motorcycles are based in Bolton and saw their sales more than quadruple during 2019. This equates to a turnover of over £17 million and has allowed them to grow their employees to more than 50.

In a statement Managing Director Austin Clews said “2019 was our best year so far, but 2020 is already on track to be even better, which could be a fitting way to mark CCM’s 50th anniversary. None of this would be possible without our fantastic customer support.”

Even though they only launched their first 600cc single-cylinder Spitfire model in 2017, they have since manufactured and delivered over 1,000 bikes to UK customers, with a further 500 already on order.

The Spitfire has been joined by other models, including the Bobber and Café Racer, whilst they have also produced limited specials such as the £11,995 Spitfire Foggy Edition, designed in collaboration with four times World Superbike champion Carl Fogarty.
